I live in the Ozarks on forty acres, usually with more garden than
any sane soul should have.
My
mother was my first teacher, living with her was living with plants.
I began wildcrafting before I was able to read, and I've worked with
the plant kingdom for almost three decades.
My
adult life has been as an herb woman. I'm from the "Seat of the
Pants" school of herbalism. I learned by doing, bartering for
books as I could. Some of my first books were from the turn of the
century. I
read my first herb book thirty-seven years ago.
I was reared in
Arkansas, with eight siblings, wildcrafting all the while.
I am self-educated
in both art and herbalism. I began university studies at age sixteen
and somehow, along the way, wandered back to these hills.
